Mitsubishi motors corporation did support the rescue operations in the region hit by the earthquake with - amongst other mesures - a fleet of i-MiEV. These have proved most helpful as fuel supply was limited to the max, whilst electric power was a possibility after only a few days.
To give you a idea of the monumental task our japanese friends have to face, you'll find hereafter a set of pix showing our little i-MiEV on duty in the Sendai area.
